My CallerToolBox ist available for several years. It is a desktop applicaton which only works on Windows. It is written in Visual Basic. Developement was completed a few years ago. I’m using the system since 2006 myself.
I often read that there are Callers who like other systems (like Linux and MacOS) or who would love to use their mobile device (mobile phone or tablet) for calling. Any attempt to install my programs on Linux failed.
The version I’m showing here works on any browser on any operating system provided is can install Node.Js This means it can be easily installed on Windows, Linux (regardless of version) and MacOS. The browser will also display it on a mobile device (for Android or IOS), but needs a server in the background to run the program itsself (can be a laptop/PC locally or a Docker installation anywhere in the world).
Here is what this program can do and what it is not designed for (yet).
IT CAN:
- Read all your .mp3 files. They may be located anywhere and all be in one folder with subfolders. There may be as many subfolders as you like and the naming your choice. If it is a subfolder with Patter the name needs to include „Patter“. Apart from that you are free to what structure to use.
- It will display all these files. You can search by any field.
- You can view and modify all information for this file.
- You can play the file. The player has controls for Tempo and Pitch. Patter records will loop.
- While playing patter you can display Tips that you prepared and selected before the player is started.
- You may also display and select Choreo from a Choreo database (included). There are tables available for Plus, A1, SSD and MS50.
- When playing singing call it will display the Text as Karaoke (provided your files have been set up that way).
- Synchronize your Text with the music using the Lyricsmaker option so you can use the Karaoke function.
- If no Karaoke Text is available it is looking for a .html file with exact the same name as the .mp3 file and if found it is displayed.
- If prepared you can also display singing choreo from the database or pre selected sequences per song.
- For each day there is a logfile (telling when and what has been played). You can send this logfile to yourself by email if configured. This is a Caller Diary.
- The Choreo will be colored as follows: Designators (like boys, girls etc) will be blue and calls will be red. You may add Choreo. Text entered can be formatted automatically to allow better searching.
- There is a Tipmaker that puts several sequenzes together into a Tip. This can be displayed while playing patter.
- There a various ways to export all the data into Excel Files and to re-import changed data.
At Present IT CAN NOT:
- Create connections between Choreodb and Singing call (only if existing)
